"(Elgar) went on four fences from home and readily secured his third win from four starts"

It was more of a dream than an ambition for Mike to become a professional racehorse trainer. He had spent about 20 years working in the antiques trade combining the training of point to pointers with the day job. When Sylvia Tainton made the offer of moving to her yard and setting up there it was too good an opportunity to miss. With a selection of proven and untried horses to train for her, and being able to take exisiting customers with us, the yard underwent a large makeover now providing the 22 boxes in use.
With a great location for National Hunt horses we have about 15 courses within a distance of about 100 miles, and are only 5 minutes from Worcester and Hereford, Stratford and most importantly Cheltenham are less than an hour away.
As National Hunt trainers the ambition is to win with as many individuals as possible, whichever their grade of race, with the hope of discovering that special horse that would be able to justify a Cheltenham entry.
We intend to have a complete honesty policy, keeping owners informed of their charges' ability, improvement, race targets, and unfortunately injury, when and if they occur. Racehorse training sees the broad spectrum of emotions, from ecstasy to despair, so if you would like to join the rollercoaster with us, then please contact us via one of the methods available here.
